What is a Point Person and how can I review student progress by their assigned Point Person?
A Point Person is the person responsible for monitoring and following up with an identified student. They can be assigned for Attendance or Academics. Assigning a point person in the Portal allows you to quickly group students that need to be reviewed frequently, as well as alerting all staff members to the single point of contact identifying student supports.
Assigning through the Student Profile
Click on a student’s name to open the Student Profile or use the search box on the top right to find the desired student
Open the Point People panel and utilize the appropriate dropdown
Assigning from a List view or the Data Grid
From the Left-side Navigation click Data Grid
Enable Batch Actions then check the boxes next to the names of students to be assigned the same Point Person
Once all of the students are selected click Edit Fields and choose the appropriate Point Person field to populate
Please note: Only staff members with edit access can be Point People
Review progress by Point Person in a List View
Select Academic or Attendance from the Left-side Navigation and then click Student List
Customize the second dropdown on the top to select the students you would like to focus on and the third dropdown to select a specific Point Person
Review progress by Point Person in the Data Grid
From the Left-side Navigation click Data Grid
Using the Edit Columns feature, include the Point Person field you would like to utilize
Once included, you can filter based on a specific Point Person
