How can I identify students failing courses needed for graduation?

Analyzing course data can identify early warning signs for students in need of academic support. Marking period data is pulled from the student information system on a daily basis and displayed within the Portal. Only official marking period data is visible.

Using the Academic Student List

  • Select Academic from the Left-side Navigation and then click Student List

  • Adjust the first dropdown to specify marking period courses needed for graduation

  • The second and third drop downs can be manipulated to view failing courses for specific subgroups

Using the Data Grid

  • Navigate to the Data Grid from the Left-side Navigation

  • Choose the Academics template view

  • Select or unselect any columns you want to add or remove from the grid through the edit columns feature

  • Click Apply to explore your custom data view

  • Hone in on columns exploring courses not passing needed for graduation

  • Share a link to your custom grid with other staff members who have access to the Portal

  • To assign a group of students to an Academic Support, Click Batch actions, then check the box next to the students you want to assign, then select Edit and assign supports.
