Hi there!

New Visions offers schools the opportunity to administer certain subjects of Mock Regents exams to their students prior to the next administration and have that data put into the Portal to be analyzed by school staff in order to support instructional decisions.

Overview

What are Mock Regents and why administer them?

Mock Regents are practice exams that will give students and staff a baseline for evaluating student performance on actual Regents exams during upcoming administrations. Some of these exams are past Regents that have been released to be used as practice, and the newer US History exam is a New Visions created practice exam.

Which exams are offered?

Currently there are four exams being offered for schools to administer:

  • Algebra I (August 2022)

  • Global (August 2022)

  • Living Environment (August 2022)

  • US History (New Visions Practice Exam)

How can my school administer Mock Regents?

  • Schools download subject specific Regents exam booklets and custom bubble sheets through New Visions

      • Algebra I (August 2022)

      • Global (August 2022)

      • Living Environment (August 2022)

      • US History (New Visions Practice Exam)

  • Staff administer exams

    • Students fill out multiple choice questions on their bubble sheets

    • Staff score constructed response and essay questions separately and add those scores to student bubble sheets, along with filling out student OSIS numbers

  • Schools use the scanning functionality on their printers to scan bubble sheets into a single PDF

  • New Visions staff scans the PDF bubble sheets and imports the data into the Portal

  • Turnaround time should be two to three business days after files have been shared with New Visions

  • School staff is then able to use the Portal to review Mock Regents results
