This article will explain how to assign course plans to address credit gaps using the Portal. Let's get started!


Overview


How to add courses for the current term

Follow these steps to add courses for the current term:

  1. Click on Attendance on the left side navigation panel

  2. When the Attendance page loads, ensure that the second filter bucket is displaying all students

  3. Click on the name of the student whose credit gaps you would like to view

  4. Once in the Student Profile click on the Credit Gaps panel to expand it

  5. Navigate to the Current Program list, where you will find the Add To This Term button

  6. Click the Add To This Term button then click Course

  7. From here, a course list will appear titled Add Courses To This Term, and you will be able to filter for the subject, period and course code for the course(s) that you would like to add

  8. When you find the course(s) that you would like to add, click Add (in the last column), and the course will be added to the student's current term

How to drop courses for the current term

Follow these steps to add courses for the current term:

  1. Click on Attendance on the left side navigation panel

  2. When the Attendance page loads, ensure that the second filter bucket is displaying All Students *Depending on what level school that is being viewed, it will specify if it's a High School, Middle School or Elementary School*

  3. Click on the name of the student whose credit gaps you would like to view

  4. Once in the Student Profile click on the Credit Gaps panel to expand it

  5. Navigate to the Current Program list where a list of the current courses that the student is enrolled in for the term will appear

  6. Go to the last column where you will find three dots

  7. Click on the three dots, and the option to drop the course will appear

  8. Click Drop and the course will be dropped from the current term

How to set plans for future terms

Follow these steps to set plans for future terms:

  1. Click on Attendance on the left side navigation panel

  2. When the Attendance page loads, ensure that the second filter bucket is displaying all students

  3. Click on the name of the student whose credit gaps you would like to view

  4. Once on the Student Profile click on the Credit Gaps panel to expand it

  5. Navigate to the bottom of the Credit Gaps panel, where you will find a button that says Add To Future Term

  6. Click Add To Future Term, and from here, a course list will appear titled Add Courses To Future Terms

  7. You will be able to filter for the term, subject and course code for the course(s) that you would like to add to future terms

  8. Click Add and the course will be added to whichever term you selected prior

How does this effect a student's credit gaps?
Once this planning is completed, it will be reflected in the colors of the Credit Gaps panel.
