This article will explain the permissions associated with each user access level that can be assigned in the Portal. Only school principals and delegated Portal administrators can modify access levels in Settings > User Management.

Access levels for school-based users
There are seven possible user access levels for a school-based Portal user.
Can edit all students, create supports, and manage users. This access level is auto-assigned to the principal by New Visions.
Can edit all students, create supports, and manage users, just like an Admin
School Wide Editor
Can edit all students and create supports, but can't manage users
School Wide Viewer
Can view all students and add notes, but can't edit student fields
Can edit caseload students, but can't create supports or manage users
Can view caseload students and add notes, but can't edit student fields
Can't log in to the Portal. This is the default for staff members found on the school's pedagogue file when their accounts are initially created in the Portal by New Visions.

Access levels for district or school support organization users
There are three possible user access levels for a district or school support organization user. These users can be granted permission to view data in aggregate for a group of schools, and/or log in to individual school Portals depending on their access level.
Can login, access network views, and enter school Portals. This access level is auto-assigned to designated individuals by New Visions.
Network & School Level*
Can login, access network views, and enter school Portals for a portfolio of schools
Network Level Only
Can login and access network views for all schools in the network, but can't enter school Portals
Can't log in to the Portal
Network & School Level User Portfolios
Users with Network & School Level access can be given access to every schools in the network, or to a specific portfolio of schools within the network. This portfolio then determines which schools the user sees in the aggregate network views, as well as the schools they are able to enter directly.
