Hello! As a Caring Adult, you can now access DHS shelter contact information for your assigned students, making it easy to to coordinate with shelter staff in support of your families. Read on to learn how!
Overview
In order for you to access your assigned students' DHS shelter information, families are required to submit participation consent for the Every Child and Family is Known program.
Once your families have submitted consent, you’ll be able to view details for the DHS shelter where the family is currently residing, including:
Shelter name
Shelter address
Shelter all-hours phone number
Shelter director name
Shelter director email
Shelter director phone number
Family Profile
Here's how to access DHS contact information for your students:
Click ECFIK in the lefthand navigation
Click the three-dot menu to the right of the student's name
From the dropdown, click View family
If the family's consent status is Yes, you will be able to view the Shelter information module.
If the family has not yet consented, it's quick and easy to request consent! Learn more here.
Requesting consent
If the family has not yet submitted consent to participate in Every Child and Family is Known, you can easily send a DocuSign email to the family's primary guardian to request program consent.
If you've already added the primary guardian's email, click Request consent in the Shelter Information panel:
Click Request to confirm and send a DocuSign link to the family's primary guardian::
If you haven't yet added the primary guardian's email, click Update email and request consent.
Enter the primary guardian's email and click Save and request consent to send a DocuSign link to the family's primary guardian:
Once your family has submitted consent, you'll be able to view their shelter information!
